Mohammed is an active member of the voluntary sector within Pendle. He is a director and trustee of Building Bridges Pendle, Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale CVS and Lancashire BME Network.

Iftab has spent many years in retail. He was the Manager at 02 at the Trafford Centre, he is now the Director of Best for Less retail and owns a number of outlets in the North West.

Javid is a passionate community worker, who has been activley engaged in empowering local communities for over 30 years. From Job Creation, tackling NEET to addressing BAME issues, in collaboration with agencies including East Lancashire Training and Enterprise Council, Lancashire Learning and Skills Council, Asian Business Federation and Lancashire County Council. Javid has a successful track record in being a community catalyst for positive change. He currently is a tactical planning officer for Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs, in Preston.

Raja is a qualified Solicitor with many years of experiences in both the public and private sector. He is now the Director of Justice Solicitors Ltd. Raja is also a trustee of Safa Trust, set up in 2011 to help fight deprivation and promote education.

A teacher by profession, Mohammed has lived in Burnley for 51 years and worked tirelessly throughout his life to promote equality and support the development of cohesive communities. After retiring from teaching, he gained experience of working within the voluntary sector as the Director of Blackburn Racial Equality Council during the 1990’s. He is a former Mayor and Deputy Leader of Burnley Borough Council. In his voluntary roles he has chaired the national federation of Pakistani Associations; in 1969, he was asked to join the national Race Relations Board; he was vice chairman of the Burnley and Pendle Racial Equality Council for over 20 years; he was the secretary of the Lancashire Council of Mosques when it was originally set up in 1990/91 and was actively involved in the development of that charity for 10 years; working with the Bishop of Burney and representatives of the faith communities of Burnley, he helped to set up Building Bridges in Burnley in 2001 following the disturbances that occurred in the town during that year. He is still very active in community life being the chair of Burnley Islamic Trust, a trustee of Jinnah Community Development Trust and a trustee of Al Hayat Languages Ltd.

Mohammed has worked in the finance industry for many years. He is now the director of his own company.

Amir is a qualified business advisor and growth coach with over 12 years of business experience supporting small to medium sized enterprises. His skills include assisting, managing, delivering projects and working with partners and stakeholders throughout the Northwest. Amir currently works for Enterprise4all and has previously worked within economic regeneration within Blackburn with Darwen Council. Over the last 18 months, he has been involved with Community Enterprise & Skills (CIC) with managing and delivering a number of community related projects in Greater Manchester and Lancashire. Furthermore during the weekends he is a Scout Leader for Abu Hanifah Foundation Scouts supporting and helping young children.

Mussurat has worked in the field of community cohesion for over 16 years. She has worked for Lancashire Constabulary and was a governor at Blackburn College. Mussurat is currently a director/manager of Practical Solutions and is a director of Muslim Women’s Network UK. She is passionate about promoting equality for women.
