Course Overview
This course is designed for learners preparing for the Trinity A2 SELT, required for Further Leave to Remain (visa extension) in the UK after 2.5 years on the 5-year partner or parent route. Sessions are delivered in small, supportive groups with a focus on real test practice and confident communication.

Understand the A2 SELT test structure and expectations
Gain confidence through test-style simulations
Practise answering questions clearly and naturally
Learn useful vocabulary related to daily life and A2-level topics
Improve speaking and listening fluency
Who needs this test?
  • Learners applying for Further Leave to Remain (visa extension)
  • Typically required 2.5 years after arrival on the 5-year partner/parent route
  • Test must be taken at an approved Trinity SELT centre (Manchester)
Test Format: 7 minutes total
Speaking & Listening (1-to-1, face-to-face with an examiner)
What the test includesThe examiner will ask questions about:
  • Yourself and your personal background
  • Daily routines and lifestyle
  • Describing picture prompts
  • Types of jobs and your work
  • Describing your house/home
  • Giving and understanding directions
  • Talking about the weather
Remember:
  • The examiner is testing your language, not your knowledge
  • Use Grade 5 grammar and vocabulary
  • Ask the examiner at least one question
  • Keep the conversation natural and flowing
